My intention for this tutorial was to design a make up look that Jessica Rabbit might wear if she had stepped out of toon town and come to life. I thought this may be a versatile look for those of you that wanted a different spin on neutral pin up make up or something less complicated for a last minute Halloween costume. I asked all of you on Facebook which Jessica Rabbit look you wanted to see and the majority of you wanted me to recreate both. I ran out of time to film a two in one tutorial, but I promise you I will tackle the cartoon version on my channel at some point.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit was one of my favorite films growing up so I wanted to recreate Jessica’s signature look and make it instantly recognizable. To do this, I began by integrating both the soft indigo color and darker purple to shade around the inner and outer corners of the eye. I sketched out a similarly circular design to mimic the exaggerated round shape of her eyes and used a softer highlight in the middle to give the eyes a little more dimension. I topped off the eyes with an extreme cat eye liner and full, dramatic lashes to elongate the almond shape and create a heavy, bedroom feel. As for my complexion, I kept my skin matte and used a soft pink blush to maintain a natural flush. To recreate Jessica’s full lips, I rounded out the shape with a matte lip liner and lipstick by MAC and added a highlight in the middle to help catch the light and make them appear more pouty.
