Most of you who are familiar with my channel know that I lean towards a lot of dark, vintage or theatricial looks. I thought I would change things up a bit and tackle something bright and bold this time around. My inspiration for this look is taken from the often experimental and bright makeup and night life in the 80’s. Think of the glitzy night life in Miami Vice meeting the glam rock influences in Labyrinth. Even though they’re quite opposite, they’re strangely harmonious.
I wanted to create something that was really fluid and didn’t involve a lot of blending. I’ve done a lot of winged tutorials before, but something keeps drawing me back to this shape. I really like how it makes the eyes look almost feline and with the colors used, it infuses a bit of a sci-fi/fantasy element as well. To create this look, I used very few brushes and a lot of cream bases from the same palette. This is not to say that you have to use the same products to recreate my look. Any eyeliner or paint pot would be more than suitable, as long as it corresponds with the eye shadow you’ll be using over top. I find that using a base really helps to make the colors more vivid and the cream bases are generally a lot easier to remove if you make a mistake while mapping out your shapes.

Hey! I absolutely love your posts & videos! Your skin always looks so flawless, could you recommend a good concealer for redness? I am quite fair like you and am having a hard time finding one.

Thank you very much! I usually use Smashbox HD Concealer in fair or the Makeup Forever camouflage cream palette. I believe it’s palette #1 and I use the fairest color.

I don’t have any stored on my computer, but you can find some good from old 80’s movies. I find that YouTube has a lot of clips from various films, so it should be easy enough to find. Good luck! x

Hey Chloe!
Which sort of era were you thinking of? There has been a lot of evolution in regards to club make up over the years. Do you have any reference photos in mind?
