I rarely recreate celebrity make up looks on my channel, but I couldn’t ignore how effortlessly Lana Del Rey has mixed the timeless aesthetics of the 50s and 60s to create a unique style all her own. I like how this look incorporates a modern twist with the softer shadow being applied on the lower lash line instead of the harsh, liquid liner. It still evokes a sense of authenticity by utilizing matte eye shadows, nude lips and of course a defined crease but still provides some versatility for those of you that want something a little more up to date. This particular style is very complimentary on hooded eyes, because it relies on creating a false crease which adds instant depth and definition.
The other wonderful thing about this look is that the colours are interchangeable. Lana Del Rey often sports the neutral brown tones, but she has also worn this look using grey, lavender and even orange shades. If you want to create something a little more authentic, you can trace your lower lash line with a black liquid liner, making sure to connect it to the outer wing for a very Sophia Loren inspired type of look. This could also be achieved by applying a spiky pair of false lashes to the lower lash line to give your eyes that 60s doll effect. To accent this, use a light coloured eye liner on your inner water line to brighten your eyes and break up the harsh liner. Alternatively, if you find the white eye liner on the inner water line to be too bold, you could use a soft lavender, nude or even a pale pink instead and it would still give you a similar effect. The possibilities are endless with this look and it can be tweaked for the season as well as for any occasion. If you want something even more modern, apply some peach, nude or white glitter to the lids to turn it into a party look or something more playful for the holidays.

Hello!
I found your website thru Ipsy. I’m a newer member there and I was looking around for makeup tips and ideas. I absolutely love your tutorials. You have such striking features. I would love to get your advice on looks for my eyes. I have small, close, deep set eyes. I also have a deep crease under each of my eyes. I am worried most looks with thicker liners/blends won’t work because of the crease. And most looks I worry will just drawn more attention to how close my eyes are. Do you have any recommendations for looks? I have often thought about going to cosmetology school just to try to learn how to apply makeup that is best suited for my face. Thank you so much for your videos! They are done very well and are very helpful!

Beautiful!! I love this. Believe it or not, however, I am a bit fairer skinned than you and was wondering if you could recommend a good nude lipstick that is just a tad lighter? Something that’s also somewhat matte is ideal. Thank you so much!!
