Rouge Artist #50 in Satin Black by Make Up Forever
Price: $23.00 for (0.12 oz)
Finish: Satin
Pigmentation and Finish -I’ve always been partial to Make Up Forever products, since they’re known to be extremely pigmented and long wearing. The Black Satin lipstick is no exception and offers a beautiful, violet scented high-shine lipstick for those of you that want to skip the gloss but still want to sport a bit of a lustre.
Longevity and Consistency-The color intensity is a true, solid black but because of its creamier consistency it tends to transfer onto other surfaces rather easily. I have found it’s best paired with a matte, black lip liner to increase staying power and minimize potential feathering. It does provide a bit of a stain after being applied and a helpful factor when looking to maximize its staying power.

The Portland Black is my favourite too and it really does last all day and give credit to the phrase “It’s what’s inside that counts!” I have Tarred by OCC too but I found it isn’t totally opaque. I’m intrigued by the Illamasqua one but I’ll stick with Portland Lipstick Company.

IF you’re referring to The Portland Black Lipstick Company - they’re like the hidden gem of the cosmetics world. They make amazingly pigmented lip products. I have yet to try all of their stuff, but I highly recommend you give them a try 🙂

Yes, it’s absolutely brilliant! The OCC lip tar is opaque for me, but it does require some layering. That’s what I like about it. It’s quite diverse. If you ever want to splurge, treat yourself to Pristine. I love having a complete matte black lipstick handy. It’s quite sophisticated!
