NeoStrata Hydra Infusion Moisture Cream

Product: NeoStrata Moisture-Infusion Cream

Price: $27.50 CAD for 50ml

Skin Type: Hydra Infusion is formulated for all skin types, but is especially helpful for anyone suffering from dry or sensitive skin.

What I Like:

Sensitive Formula - I absolutely love the light, fresh scent of this cream. It’s not too over powering and I think that is one of the major factors that contribute to the lack of irritation. My skin is very sensitive and usually reacts to heavily scented products. I’ve always had a problem with redness and discolouration as well, but I find when I pair this with the NeoStrata Oil Free Gel Cleanser, my skin is instantly soothed and starts to clear up within a matter of days.

Hydration - The Moisture Infusion Cream is infused with Petrolatum, glycerin and shea butter which are renowned ingredients for restoring moisture to the skin. NeoStrata claims that their formula provides balance and restorative properties that sooth sensitive, dehydrated or stressed skin whether caused by diet, fatigue stress or other environmental factors. I particularly love using this in the winter because it is an excellent base for my makeup. It produces a smooth canvas and locks in moisture to prevent any dryness after application. Sometimes if I feel extra dry, I apply a large amount to a makeup free face to help plump up my skin and allow for a little rejuvenation.

What I don’t like:

I always consider NeoStrata products to be moderately priced, but for some this moisturizer may be quite expensive. The longevity truly depends on how much and how often it is applied. I try to use it once a day before I apply my make up to stretch it out as long as possible. I also would prefer if it came with a pump applicator over a screw top jar. If you don’t use a spatula to acquire the product, it can become rather unsanitary after repeated use of sticking your hands into it.

Tips for application:

  • Use warm water with your cleansing routine to open the pores and allow the moisturizer to absorb into the skin.
  • To increase the softness of the skin’s surface, use a gentle exfoliator to slough off any excess dry skin. Do this once a week before applying the moisturizer to maximize absorption and reap its true benefits!
  • Allow it to sink in for a few minutes before applying a primer to create a perfect canvas for your make up.
  • If you’re feeling incredibly dry, cover your face in a hot cloth for 30 seconds to a minute to open your pores. Apply a liberal amount of moisturizer. Pair this with your current eye cream and lip treatment and allow your skin to rejuvenate for a day!
