4) Make-up Remover and Cleanser – A lot of my clients already have makeup on their face when they show up on set, so it’s a good idea to come prepared with a gentle makeup remover and cleanser. I like to use the Bioderma Sensibio H20 cleanser because it’s a highly effective makeup remover and cleanser in one and is suitable for all skin types.
A wonderful tip I learned along the way is to keep a small box of baking soda in your kit. Mix a teaspoon of it in with your cleanser to create a thick paste and use it to exfoliate your client’s face with a cloth and some warm water. This is an easy way to slough off any excess dry skin and is particularly helpful in creating a smooth canvas especially in the winter months when our skin is likely dehydrated.

- I’m so the same way…which can be really hard when you’re an aritrt/illustratos. People want me to do illustrations in the order the pages come in…and inspiration just doesn’t work that way. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that! Good for you, for doing it YOUR way. That shows some real chutzpah. (Just a little yiddish, to end on.) January 10, 2011 - 9:38 am
